Which Argentine police certificate does IRCC require?
When an Argentine police certificate is required, IRCC specifies the certificate from the Registro Nacional de Reincidencia bearing the wording “con excepción al artículo 51 del Código Penal”. A certificate without it does not meet the Argentina instructions. Also check when to obtain it and the translation requirements for your application.
Does my Argentine qualification need an assessment for Express Entry?
An immigration-purpose educational credential assessment (ECA) from an IRCC-designated organization is required to claim points for education completed outside Canada. It is also needed to meet the education requirement as the principal Federal Skilled Worker Program applicant. An ECA is not a professional licence and does not guarantee employment. We review which Argentine credentials and records need assessment.
Is Express Entry the same as obtaining permanent residence?
No. It is a system for managing applications under certain programs. Creating a profile, receiving an invitation and obtaining approval are separate stages and should not be treated as equivalent.
Does a provincial nomination replace the federal application?
No. A nomination and the permanent residence decision serve different purposes. Both the relevant provincial requirements and the federal requirements of the applicable pathway need consideration.
