Study in Canada
We assess how your study plans fit your immigration circumstances and what documentation they require.
How we can help
- Study permits
- Extensions and permit conditions
- Accompanying family members
Does this sound like you?
- You are in Argentina and want to assess plans to study in Canada before committing to a program.
- You already have an admission offer and want to organize an application that explains your academic background and plans.
- You are studying in Canada and considering an extension, a change of school or arrangements for your family.
What we review in a consultation
- Cyrus can assess your immigration history, chosen program and the circumstances that need explaining in your application.
- The consultation can address relevant academic and financial documents, permit conditions and gaps in the available information.
- If family members may accompany you, their circumstances can be considered separately to assess the options relevant to each person.
Getting ready for the first step
Have this information to hand. A short summary is enough for your first message; we will explain how to share documents securely.
- Note the school, program and proposed dates; share documents only after receiving instructions for sending them securely.
- Have a summary of your education, work and reasons for choosing the program ready to discuss.
- Identify previous permits, refusals and accompanying relatives; flag any approaching expiry date or proposed start date.
Questions about this service
How should I explain savings in pesos, dollars or family support from Argentina?
Prepare a summary of the accounts, currencies, account holders, source of funds and who will cover the costs. IRCC assesses both the amount and the source and availability of the money. We can review how to document savings, income and family support. Current requirements and any conditions affecting access to or transfer of funds need checking before submission.
Can I submit Argentine diplomas and records in Spanish?
Unless IRCC instructs otherwise, Spanish documents need an English or French translation. The application guide also determines the translation formalities and copies required. Check those instructions before commissioning translations; an apostille does not replace a translation.
Is an admission letter enough to study in Canada?
Academic admission and immigration authorization are separate matters. The letter may form part of the application, but it does not replace an assessment of the permit requirements or guarantee approval.
Can I work while studying?
That depends on your circumstances and the applicable conditions. A consultation can address whether you are authorized to work and which restrictions need considering before you start a job.
What if my study plans change?
Changing schools, programs or dates can have immigration consequences. Tell us what changed and when so Cyrus can assess the effect on your permit or pending application.
