Questions about this service
Do Argentine passport holders need a visa or an eTA?
For a temporary visit by air, you can apply for an eTA with a valid Argentine passport if you held a Canadian visitor visa within the past ten years or hold a US non-immigrant visa valid when applying. Otherwise, you normally need a visa. An eTA does not replace a visa for entry by land or sea. You can keep using an existing valid Canadian visa. Your status and full itinerary also need checking.
I have Argentine and Italian or Spanish citizenship. What should we check?
Tell us all your citizenships, your Canadian status and which passport you will use. Travel requirements can differ; if you need an eTA, it must match your travel passport. Canadian citizenship or permanent residence calls for different travel documents. Another passport does not replace any study or work authorization you need.
Does extending my stay renew my visa?
No. A visitor record concerns your authorized stay in Canada and is not a visa. Travel and re-entry require a separate assessment of the relevant documentation.
Can I work during a visit?
Visitor status does not, by itself, authorize work. If the trip involves professional activities, explain them clearly so their treatment as business visits or activities requiring other authorization can be assessed.
